That's been a "feature" of Word going back to version 6 at least. May
have something to do with undo capabilities. I've learned that if I didn't
want it saving all of the previous revisions of a document, I have to
periodically use "Save As" instead of "Save". "Save As", as I understand it,
saves only the current revision. Better yet, if you really want to save disk
space, save it as a WinWord 2 document. That cuts out the OLE crap, undo
stuff and all. Just the document with formatting itself.
