Hrm. Winblows has decided I have an extra unformatted drive! Dunno when
it appeared but it is "full" and has a total capacity of 0 bytes. huh? I
do have a few megabytes of free space sitting, plus two linux drives that
windows shouldn't see. I'm considering booting to the diskmanager to see
what's up and all.
Also, what sort of success might I have if I tried substituting a hard
drive for a cdrom drive in my scsi drive unit (not currently in use) a
"back pack cdrom" from microsolutions? If it worked, I could stick the
basic windows system under the 512 limit on the drive, linux on the rest,
and the windows apps on the 800MB drive, thus being able to boot via lilo.
I'd like some thoughts on that idea as doing it requires a silly amount of
effort but if it worked it would result in a fine system.
OTOH, if I ever get the linux up to my desires, I might just dump windows
entirely. Only thing is, the RH6.0 runs ridiculously slowly on my system,
at least the gnome xwindows does. I suppose I'll have to find another form
of GUI to work in and learn to set that up.
bye,
