What I should have said is that Linux can multitask just fine without a GUI
(that is, without X-Window, KDE, GNOME, etc.) when using programs designed
for just the console -- without the X environment.

The developer of Arachne is promising to develop a Linux version for the
console.

I would like to see a lot more programs developed for just the Linux console
for those of us who don't need or want the X environment.
