My personal view of CLI/GUI comibination.
The basic screen (no apps loaded) is an almost full text screen, but
with one or more clickable borders with links to often used programms/
functions. Of course the textscreen should be "mouse-enhanced". Eg for
copy/pasting as done in Linux. Eg Windows' panel at the bottom, and a
Mac-like menustructure at the top of the screen. To test the idea with
Windows open a DOS box which fills most of the screen, leaving a small
space at the sides for the panel and some other icons at the desktop.
