I would think you'd have to load the Operating System (DOS), first, eh ? Without an operating system, Windoze is useless. Windows 3.0 *can* run on a 286, as long as you don't try to run it in "Enhanced" mode, and stick to one application at a time. IIRC, your 286 must have 4 MB or more of EMS/XMS available, though. Some winblows applications ( e.g. - the "Solitaire" card game ) will crash. If it is the GUI that you're looking for ( on what is clearly a DOS PC ), try the English or German version of desktop2. Now freeware, it is a very powerful DOS GUI. Dump windows. You might try a real ISP, too, instead of AOL.
