To add to the topic. AMD seems to be doing better in the last year
or two in the USA. I have an AMD processor in my main desktop. I
also upgraded my old 486 from 33mhz to 100mhz with an "Evertech "
upgrade that uses an AMD processor. amazng. sold me on AMD. My
laptop, (older thinkpad) has, of course, intel.
Despite all my resistance to Microsoft Office, (I just like
Wordperfect better, doggone it!) I may have to get it installe don
my desktop. It's _all_ they use at work. and my boss keeps e-
mailing me things in "Microsoft publisher" format and "word" format.
i can't get her to understand, that if she would _just_ mail the
bitmap she wants me to use, and not embed it in a .doc file, it would
be WAY smaller and faster. Man, what a waste of HDD space.
regarding browsers, I prefer Netscape. Hey, I got hooked back at
version 1.2, and I'm still using it. But i have IE4 on my desktop.
Sometimes I use both browsers at once to have multiple web sites open
with less crashing. I also have Opera, Lynx, and Arachne: maily for
testing my web pages in.
