To put it bluntly, that's bull. It's purely BeOS r4.5, albeit a highly
configured version set up as a sort of internet kiosk. What
marketing seemed to pick up was that BeOS includes many of the
same tools as Linux (numerous GNU utilities) and somehow got
the idea it was a Linux/BeOS hybrid, or they just saw a chance to
get some attention since Linux has got quite a lot of buz lately
(most likely).

This machine is being geared as an internet appliance, not a
complete computer. You thought the iMac was bad with no floppy?
At least it came with a CD drive! What if the OS chokes and you
have to reinstall? Doesn't matter I guess as you don't get a copy of
the BeOS CD anyhow. It's a 200 computer, you get what you pay
for.

Don't even start me on the evils of AOL.
