This may be a good question for a survpc list: I have a Unix shell account with my ISP, and frequently use zmodem (sz etc.) to transfer files such as mail or news files from my shell to my PC. For years I have been annoyed at an approximately 10 to 12 second delay between the time my zmodem file transfer completes and the time I get a Unix prompt back, so I can execute some more commands. This time looks suspiciously like the time it takes to terminate things like a dos packet driver connection with an ISP. But I really dont know the origin of the extra 12 second delay and/or how I might eliminate it. I have tried some things: changing the packet size, the zmodem timeouts that I can change, looking at stty, etc. Anyone have any ideas about the orgins of/solutions to this delay?
