The most simple and straighforward "mail transporter" (ahh - that's what
you were looking for) AFAIK, is Colstons's/Nettamer Netmail Pro: PPP,
POP3 and SMTP in one, just about 70 K.
There are some more "on the fly" digest expanders though, among the
offline readers, for instance mine (ReRead; though even that has its
bugs, <g>)
