A good place to look for used equipment is in magazines that describe themselves as
being "remarketers" sometimes instead of just "used"

Try www.processor.com or www.computerhotline.com to browse online.

I am not sure if they have a place to subscribe to the magazine for free on their web
sites so:

Computer Hotline subscriptions: 800-866-3241
Processor: 800-334-7445

I saw 486 computers with 8MB RAM and 120-240 MB HDD for $15 and VGA low grade monitors
for $5 but cannot find where I saw that ad. While I was looking for that bargain for
someone who wrote me from the SurvPC list I thought telling others a place to look
would be helpful.

The thing to keep in mind when calling these places that if you are looking for
386/486 computers chances are they will be willing to deal on the price. If you are
looking to buy a quantity you may negotiate a lower price per unit.

In all my years of buying computer related items I have found the computer remarketers
in general to be knowledgeable, professional and have shipped the product out without
hassle.

BUT! They do not want to teach you about computers, explain what anything does, etc.
You must know what you are doing and looking for when calling.

I will add other sources as I remember them.

Hal Hanson.
