I can't remember if I posted this before, but here's some info I came
upon once:

---------------------
If you have a old computer card (be it video, I/O, motherboard)
and you don't have a manual and there is no indication of the
manufacturer, look for a FCC sticker with a FCC number.
Sometimes the number is etched in the card itself. The FCC ID
codes are 1 to 15 characters long and MUST start with a letter.

Here are some examples
FTUSPEEDB (Diamond Speedstar ISA video card)
     E5XKBM10140 (Packard Bell keyboard)
     HVMCDR-S101 (Torisan 4x CD-ROM drive)

Each FCC number is unique to the card, so you can search
sites like SBS Direct's FCC ID Look-up at
     http://www.sbsdirect.com/fccenter.html

A search will turn up what the device is and the manufacturer
of the device. With this information, you can see if the
manufacturer has a web site where you can find information
about your card or at least e-mail them for info.
