Hi, If you have a good FTP client program, like Net-Tamer, go to:
ftp://ftp.simtel.net/
There are mirrors for this archive all over the world, so you will be logged
on to different servers at different times.
Next, after you have pressed the enter key at the prompts to enter your
log-in ID and your Log-In password, which uses "annonymous" as the ID and
your E-mail address as the password by default, then go to the following
directory when the first list comes up:
pub/simtelnet/msdos/editor
In that directory are over 100 different text editors and word processors.
Some of them contain source code as well as the binary files. For some of
the larger programs, the source code will be in a different archive file
from the binaries. there will be a file with a name like,
00index.txt
or
00-index.txt
which lists each program in the directory, its file size and date of
creation, and a few words describing what it is.
You will also find many of these same programs and a few others at:
ftp://ftp.garbo.uwasa.fi/
in the directories for the ibm-pc and dos.
You can find others under the wordprocessor section at:
http://www.microelectronics.com/
Enjoy!
