A friend of mine here in the Netherlands will move to the UK soon. I'm
configuring his e-mailer and webbrowser for a British ISP now.
My question: the (Dutch) manual of his modem says that in the UK the
"1800 Hz guard tone" must be selected. This is the &G2 setting.
Is there anyone in the UK who can confirm (or deny) this? Are there
any other modem tip-offs I need to know?
