Ian,

Perhaps you can still access the internet through the isp, but find someone
else to handle your email.  I never came to expect decent customer support
for my ISP's, anyway, even when Win 3.x was hip.

Were you here in Michigan, USA, I would suggest you dial into Michnet, a
network of free local dialup nodes.  They are low-tech, but free and
underused.  Is there something similar in your neighborhood?
