I use Netscape 3.04 for Linux and get the same occasional freezes on the mail page. Blame Netscape. It's buggy bloatware, but unfortunately it's the only fully- featured browser we have for Linux (..sigh). The "solution" to your problem is to switch to Arachne or Opera.
