Hmmm, DOS sound editors for DOS with access using speech programs? I'm not
aware of any, but... if you find one, I'll be more than delighted to leave
my working environment W98 system alone.

And even more, MP3 editors for DOS. I know some MP3 players, OK, but... of
course, recorders and CD grabbers there are many, but I think you want an
editing prog, right?
But let me say in the meantime how I understand you. I've been forced to use
mainly W9X stuff on my work environment, as I am also a radio producer. I
even have to manage all the programming of the automation software that does
all the on-air work, and that damn program is... guess what? W98! Well, but
if you may consider W3.1, I know a prog that I think runs under it. It is
called Tedwin, very keyboard-accessible and relatively friendly. Mainly, the
recording is done via menu, not via some graphical icon on the screen on
which you must click. There are also other progs, like Goldwave and the
like.
I'm affraid I didn't help you much, but anyway... my $0.2 on the matter!
Best wishes,
