Linux happily reads/writes on DOS partitions. I often
copy files between my Linux HDD and my DOS HDD. In fact
my DOS partition is permanently mounted as the c: directory
in my linux filesystem.
I have downloaded DOS files with Netscape (Linux) and
Linux files with Arachne (DOS). Everything works fine.

I wish there were. I've been looking for a year and
have found nothing comprehensive. I suppose I'll have
to write something myself.
I did find a couple of relevant articles. There's a
miniHOWTO called "SmallMemory", which is found in the
/doc directory of the installation CDrom of most Linux
distributions. There's also "Small Computer Tips" at:

If you want any help setting up Linux on a survivor PC,
let me know.
Cheers,
Steven
