You're right, actually there are two sets of DIP switches, but only one of
the switches should have anything to do with it (I've checked this with the
printers manual). The switch controls the setting of how the printer should
emulate. 1) Epson LQ-800 and 2) IBM Proprinter X24.

I use the printer with a danish wordprocssor, and here I have to let the
printer work as Epson compatible (I could use the other option, but the
wordprocesser expect it this way). Like this the printer works like a charm
without any trouble at all. And now to the funny thing:

MultiWorks have a printerdriver for Epson LQ-800/1000, and I have used
this... only result is the message: Printer Not Ready!

I still don't know why MW can't print to the Star printer. Same program, pc
and printer cable, but my other printer, HP520, and everything works. I
have even tried with my notebook, same program, cable and printers: same
result.
