I am seeing more and more of the discussion lists having this same
problem - especially business related lists. The extra HTML is becoming
a giant waste of resources for all involved.
Just another example of giving someone a tool (HTML) and they try using
that tool for everything. Rates about the same as the foolish management
types who suggest storing .tif (pictures) files of products in a
spreadsheet and putting that on the web as e-commerce because the boss
is an ex-accounting person and learn Lotus 1-2-3 in 1986.
IMO someone should develop discussion list software that reads the
inbound messages and deletes the additional HTML based verbiage.
I had to write this three times before I could get rid of my announce
with this trend.
