I have always supposed that "SysRq" or "SysReq" meant "System Required".
This key always appears just above the "Print Screen" key, and I figured
that it was just a note to let the user know that he cannot print the
screen until after the system, i.e., the "operating system" is loaded.
After having read the other postings on this subject, I suppose I might be
way wrong. Nevertheless, it does appear that nobody yet has written here
on this subject who seems to know for sure what it is all about.
All the best,
Sam Heywood
