When I started using Windows 98, if I was browsing a web page, or some
other text, and wanted to save it, I would select the text with my
mouse, then open up Notepad, paste the contents therein, then save the
Notepad as a .txt file. As far as web page viewing goes, this seemed to
be the only way to guarantee that the page would be saved in text format
rather than HTML format, from Netscape.

Then I found out about the 'Clipboard Viewer' in the Accessories menu.
So, I added the 'Clipboard Viewer' to my quick launch task bar. Using
that takes 1 less step, because now, I can select the text with my
mouse, then click on 'Clipboard Viewer' from my quick launch task bar,
and directly save the clipboard contents to a file.

Unfortunately, when I do that, the text is saved twice, with
miscellaneous control characters in front of, and imbedded within it.
It looks like one of those emails that some send, where it has the
regular text message at the beginning, then a HTML-ized version of the
same message following it. It's a little disappointing, because, if I
want to get rid of the excess garbage, I end up having to load up the
file again in Notepad anyway, just to delete it.

Does anyone know if there is a setting somewhere where I can tell the
'Clipboard Viewer' to just save text in DOS plain text format?
