In a message dated 00-01-11 00:10:30 EST, you write: << did try calling the tollfree number for a company named unique that sells controller cards, but they told me they are just distributors. How do I install an internal modem on this thing? >> Go to a DOS prompt. type either MSD or cd\dos then type MSD. See what the COM ports are configured at. COM 1 should be irq 4, COM 2 is irq 3, COMS 2 and four just hang loose. If modem is external, be sure you find some kind of compatible software. I used Terminal in Win for Workgroups to dink with my settings until I could make the modem dial out. I had a number to the LA, Calif., public library, (lost it), but any active BBS number will verify modem's action or inaction. (For example the AOL Software Download BBS). I kept the mouse on COM 1, put the Modem on COM 4 due to a conflict with a CD ROM. Still use COM 4 today for Modem as it worked then, and if it ain't that broke, don't fix it.
