PIII is 32 bits. DOS is 16b, although there are many tricks to use 32.
call it 16+8 Windows has some more 32b parts, but still uses a lot 16b.
call it 32-8. Linux is fully 32b. Linux is also capable of running full
64b but this requires 64b hardware (Alpha, UltraSPARC, _no_ Intel yet).
Don't know about NT, I think its fully 32b on Intel and 64 on Alpha,
just like Linux.
