What is the reason for putting the larger modules in the lower
numbered banks ?
I ask because when I added 2 - 16MB EDO simms to this machine
that already had 2 - 8MB EDO simms I had trouble and I have
them in higher numbered slots. The motherboard manufacturer
never mentioned changing the order that the memory was installed.
I worked around the problem by slowing down the memory access
in BIOS. I had the same problem with adding 2 - 8 MB simms
which I returned because I thought they must be defective. They
would run as 70 ns but not at the rated 60 ns. The 60 ns 16 MB
simms wouldn't even work at 70 ns, I had to tell BIOS that I had the
next faster processor to stop the memory errors.
