I have tried to figure this out myself. I currently have two Internet
connections I use; usually my CIS account for Windows stuff, and my
local ISP for DOS stuff. Would rather cut down to one, but I've had
marginal luck getting my ISP working for Windows stuff; Win 95 is okay,
Win 3.1 lousy.

That leaves getting Compuserve to work under DOS. Seems likely it's
possible, and it's probably something like a PAP connection. But I
haven't managed it yet.

In any case, you -won't- be using DOSCIM to handle your TCP/IP stack
because the software doesn't have the ability. It's more likely you'll
need to find a way to get a DOS TCP/IP stack to establish a connection
to CompuServe's system.

There's the rub; go look at CompuServe's DOS menu system (which I think
is still there), and see if there's a way to select a PPP or SLIP
connection. If so, it should be possible to script a DOS dialler
(EPPPD.EXE, for example) to call and make the connection.

But as I said, I've looked for a way to do this myself, and had no luck
whatsoever.
