Generally winmodems only work with windows although there
is some work being done to make some work with linux. To
me they and all other Win devices are a rip off.
I bought a Canon BJC2000 printer that now sits in a box,
works fine for Windows, but won't work in DOS and only half
works in linux. I bought an HP Desk Jet 610CL that works with
DOS, Linux and Windows.
