I never had one of these, but i do remember that Mannesmann-Tally
printers always performed pretty good in printer tests in older computer
magazines. They are said to be quite rugged, i think.

I suppose you will not be able to get a serial interface any more, at
least not new.
The Mannesmann company was bought by the "Vodafone" cellular telephone
company recently. But if i remember correctly, the Mannesmann-Tally
branch was sold off to some japanese printer company a few years ago.
Probably the easiest solution to get a serial interface is a serial-to-
parallel adaptor...
