Yes, there is a shareware anti-virus program named Integrity Master,
written by Wolfgang Stiller, of Stiller Research.
I used to use this program for performing virus scans. I even registered
my version. One of the best features of this particular program is that
it has a facility for saving all your boot and partition sector data and
your CMOS data to files on a bootable floppy. If your boot or partition or
CMOS data should ever become corrupted, you may use the program to simply
reload the the appropriate data from a file. I have tested these features
and they seem to work just fine. Integrity Master will check your boot and
partition sectors and your CMOS data for changes. If something should ever
become mysteriously changed in my system along these lines, my plan of
action calls for invoking the Integrity Master program as the first thing
to do.
At the time I downloaded the program, various versions and install options
were available for DOS and also for Windows 3.x and Windows 95. I no
longer know the name of the URL where you can get it.
All the best,
Sam Heywood
