Yes, of the little I know about Linux, this is one of the things
I did know.  My son also echos your sentiments that single-user
mode is a waste of the OS.  He also said he would not recommend
it for anyone who does not have an excellent understanding of
networks and is not extremely comfortable with a command
prompt.

}- In that case we're good to go with DR-DOS, its multitasker (if
}- need be), and 4DOS.
