Hello Karen,
Windows 3.11 really isn't all that bad. I use it all the time, actually
I use Windows for Work Groups 3.11, which is a little different, but not
much different. Win 3.1x doesn't really require separate partitions or
a dual boot setup or anything fancy like Win9x does. I have it
installed on my 486dx2-66 with PCDOS 7 rev. 1. Win3.x starts form the
autoexec.bat or from the command line. I chose the command line of
course, so if I want it I simply type "win" to start it. The only case
I can think of that might require a dual boot sort of setup would be if
you wanted different drivers and memory management configurations for
DOS and Windows. You could do that within the autoexec.bat instead,
Though.
DOS MP3 players, huh. There was a web address for DOS software here
lately. It had quite a few "sound" players. I downloaded a few, but
don't remember the address. I was looking mainly for audio cd players,
but it seems that a few of them would also do MP3s. I think I still
have the zip file for one of them on this computer. I'll send it to
you, it's only 225K.
