hi there,
hey seeing your name
makes me want to ask
if there any changes to
micq?
reasons to upgrade from the
edition i presently have?
the one john lewis put together on his site?
 anyway,
at the dos prompt, when
i type ver,
i am told that i have dos 6.22
now, on the last
try to fix the hd,
before i got the right
numbers for heads, sectors, and
cylenders,
there was a time when i had two versions of dos
on my system at the same time.
dos 6.22 and dos 7.
*do not ask*
i haven o idea, because i had
run fdisc and re formated
three times before the drive finally
let me do anything,
meaning before i could create a partition
and so forth.
it is possible that both are in the boot sector
for all i know,
but even on the last try to install dos, it did not
install completely.
so, tomorrow aftrnoon,
i am going to
set the drive numbers manually,
and correctly,
run fdisc, and
make four smaller drives from the whole thing.
which is what i have been trying to do
since.......
april.

this will be the first time, however, i have
the right numbers to use,
and as seagate has seen the bios and real board data,
it should work.
thanks,
karen
