It  is  not easy - battery has three contacts. :) Connecting lamp
not working - third contact used to check is battery connected. I
think  the  charging  circuit  is  working.  I discharged battery
completely  (just  connect  to  this  4.8V  battery 5V lamp for 3
hours).  Then  I  put  the  battery  into powered notebook for 10
minutes.  And  then  checked  battery if it was charged (with the
lamp). It was charged a little (not for a long time).

Exercising. Good idea. I will try it. But I do not know will work
with NiMH battery.
