| to leave them alone.  In my Win98 installation, there's about 14MB
| of them... so on a 12GB drive, I feel a little generous, and will leave

tip:
a lot of inf files contain settings for modems [mdm*.inf] so if you don't use a
modem for your internet connect, but use an Ethernet card like me, you can
safely delete all the mdm*.* files [more than 150 !] and save about 5 mb.
