hi bob, if all this works, i'll marry you! lol no i havenot tried it yet, as i must ask a couple of things. first for the obvious, back up everything before i begin? <g> and the way you describe it, i should be able to do some of this with my speach, only losing it when things reformat? actually, it looked like it would keep talking but i'm not sure. the idea for making four little drives is to keep the bios happy, so that is why. btw would i need to change the heads cylnders and sectors.....again? there is a dos config that is different then the windows one. it is supposed to help dos see the whole drive. the idea being setting thenumbers like this 123 64 63 in that order. lastly, and I do mean lastly, someone asked me if i need to turn on the logical byte aspect of my bios. if i do, where is it? had my reader look yesterday and could find no reference. we checked both the standard and advance cmass setup, and the fixdisc utilities, butnot knowing what i am loking for.... as to my trying anything knew after this not to worry! i am not likely to even change a font any time soon ROFL! oh, i believe i have fixed the modem problem. so that is done at least. thanks, kare To unsubscribe from SURVPC send a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with unsubscribe SURVPC in the body of the message.
