Not as such. You can watch the kernel's startup messages, which include a
memory size, or view them in the /var/log/messages file. Alternatively, you
should be able to cat /proc/memstat (I think that's the filename) - the proc
filesystem contains a lot of files reflecting the state of the system (they
don't actually exist anywhere - if a program opens the file and reads the
contents, the kernel creates the information as needed in memory), so dig
around in there if you want to find out stuff about the system.
