Not sure that this is really survpc related but..

The C/C++ course i'm studying at is seposed to teach us ANSI C.
However, they're doing it on Microsoft Visual C++ compiler.
When I asked them why we're not using a real C/C++ compiler (Visual C
has compatiblity problem with ANSI C. For example, its conio.h is
totally trimmed down. no gotoxy(), clrscr(), and more.), they answered
that they used to teach on Borland compilers, but they stopped after
"Borland have been closed". This have rather suprised me - I didnt hear
anything about it, and their site seems to be pretty much alive..

So in short: can anyone explain to me whats going on here? :)
