The simple answer is that Borland/Inprise is
alive and well. Check out www.borland.com
and www.inprise.com for starters. Their
flagship products (C++ Builder and JBuilder)
are alive and well.

As an aside, I regularly buy a UK magazine
"PC Plus" which comes with a CD taped or
glued to the cover. They frequently have full
versions of cool software that's a version or
two old (like JBuilder Pro ver 3) and offer an
upgrade price break to the current version of
the product (like JBuilder Pro ver 4).
Consequently I have recent versions of both
JBuilder Pro and C++ Builder Pro, all for the
cost of a magazine issue ($15.00 US). Also
recent issues have had Hot Metal Pro, Paint
Shop Pro, and other cool to have (and some
rather pricey) items.

Anyone telling you that "Borland is closed"
is misled or is selling something.
Trust the source, Luke.
