SQL is a language used to talk to databases - it stands for Structured Query
Language, IIRC.
What they mean is that they store all your messages in a database and then
their web server pulls these out by querying the database when you connect.
They just haven't worked out how / don't want to put a POP3 or IMAP gateway
on their database.
