Dear Will,
Well, it won't shut down all windows at once, but I use Alt-F4,
which is the Windows key-combo for closing an application, and
simply repeat as applications are closed, and others come to the
forefront.
The application must be the active window for this to work.
Also, on the task bar you can right-click on each application, and
select "Close".
