I'm considering threatening EFNet #QNX (where QSSL developers hang out)
with "The Unremarkable PTS-DOS Demodisk". Javasnit, SSL, IRC w/DCC, FTP,
news, WYSIWYG html author... you get the idea.
Oh - it'll also download, configure and install QNX RTP, which no floppy
from QSSL will EVER do.
It'd be an hellacious amount of work and right now, I think not worth
it. May not consider it any more seriously. Or may.
I found the C source for their QNX filesystem utils for DOS in their FTP
site. Compiles OK, but just plain won't run. If it worked, they'd have
the executable up, as this is the only thing there that's source.
The reason they couldn't use DOS to make this install that *results* in
a pure DOS routine to start QNX is becuase they don't know how. That's
all there is to it.
I'm also reliably informed by QSSL developers (who are trying to attract
embedded, real-time developers to QNX use) that there's no pint behind a
DOS install. No one uses DOS most of the time, right?
BTW - everybody try the URL dos.tucows.com once in a while, k? Mebbe
after reading logs a few times, they'll get the point.
