Just don't worry about whether you will learn it, simply pick it up and
start doing. That is the only way. It is how I learned and most everyone
on this list and YES, there will be times when it seems impossible and I
know I cry a lot over my frustration. I cried and raged over my win3.1
machine, over my DOS machines, a little over my win98 machine and macs
(though these were the least frustrating and seldom as difficult) and now I
am crying over my linux machine. I do it anyway because I know that is how
I will learn.
Just pick up the DOS book and turn on the 386 and and start doing the
commands it suggests. Make a quick notebook with the commands in it for
reference and to help your memory and practice them. when you can do the
commands from memory you will discover you have learned a lot more than that.
There is no easier way, although perhaps if you put the book under your
pillow at night something might leak in?
