Hello Roger:
At flea markets and used book stores at public libraries you can usually
find very good books on learning DOS, and written for all different reading
levels and technical knowledge. Many libraries periodically get rid
of their books on out-of-date computers and programs by setting them out on
tables and in cardboard boxes and offering them for sale to patrons for
prices ranging from ten cents to a quarter each. I have acquired many fine
old computer books this way from public libraries. Software companies used
to produce many fine tutorial programs on learning DOS. Sometimes you can
find these old programs at flea markets and the vendors will sell them at
amazingly cheap prices. I know of some book stores that acquire old books
in bulk quantities at estate sales and whenever they get stuck with some
old DOS manuals they will set them out on a table in front of the store
with a sign saying "FREE!".
All the best,
Sam Heywood
