try FDISK from the floppy. sounds like the MBR (Master Boot Record)
was trashed.
Better yet, buy another hardrive, put that one on the secondary
ribbon, and install Linux on the new drive.It'll fit fine on a
1.2gigger even with all the bells and whistles. I wouldnt get
Redhat; most of those I see online have slakcware, debian or as
I did, Mandrake, with a reputedly better install.
Now, you can set up a RAID, and if one drive dies, you can still
have your own personal backups on the other drive. the Linux one,
of course, wont be bothered with Microsoft viruses.
