There's one thing which always kept me from using Arachne:
it cannot run in "pure" text-mode; it needs a graphics-presentation
monitor (even when set to text only). This is regrettable.
The Net is a communications *transport* thing, NOT originating
"contents". And even the web is all bytes, i.e. "text". (BTW,
text-based browsers like the Lynxes do quite well allow to access
non-text sources.) The difference between text-based and pixel-
interpreting browsers is the enormous waste implied with the latter,
with hardware, software and transportation costs.
