It appears I was silly enough to overlook that this button-style
disk drive has *THREE* positions.  1. Insert disk  2. PUSH IN
BUTTON TO SEAT DISK  3. Push button again to eject disk.

Sheesh...!!  To think I took out the whole disk drive cage before
finally catching on to that... 8-|

Now the LED light doesn't work to the hard disk drive, even though
it's connected properly.  Oh, well.  At least the hard disk works! :)

And it appears that all the diagnostics come out ok with the
programs for it that I got from the Compaq web site...
