To all on the list,

The earliest version of AOL I've had success with is AOL 3.0 16bit for
Win3X. I'm using it currently on 2 PCs. I have to be careful and watch
what buttons I click, such as People Connection, as the newer graphics use
up all available memory, but other than that it works OK. I even run MSIE
3.03 for Win3X with the AOL 3.0 software, as well as the embedded IE in AOL.
Although I did manage to dialup and connect with version 2.5 about a year
ago, the memory required for the newer graphics is not allowed for in that
version, also there isn't a WINSOCK.DLL included with 2.5, so you can't web
browse unless you install Trumpet. AOL 3.0 loads faster than any of the
newer versions, and is my choice when I just want to connect and grab my
email. It'd be nice if AOL DOS would connect, but the AOL access numbers
have DOS versions blocked. I wanted to see how Arachne would do on an
AOHell connection, hehe!
