A new version of BasicLinux has just gone up: ----------------------------------------------- http://homepages.ihug.co.nz/~ichi/baslinux.html ----------------------------------------------- Changes between 1.3 and 1.4: (1) Busybox upgraded to the latest version (2) setserial added for modems on non-standard IRQs (3) netcat (full version) added and three nc scripts included for TCP/IP file transfers and host scanning (4) netsetup help-file for easier laplink, ethernet and NAT configuration (just edit and run) (5) a small change to the printing routine in wp to accommodate printers which do not do an automatic carriage return. (6) /dev/hda6, /dev/hda7, /dev/hda8 have been added for people who need them (7) del now asks for confirmation before deleting (8) search engine changed from dogpile to google (9) pidof and dos2unix commands added I wanted to put a dhcp client and a pppoe module into 1.4, but this is proving to be much harder than I had anticipated. It may necessitate a new kernel and/or libraries. I am still working on it and hope to put dhcp and/or pppoe in 1.5. But don't hold your breath. Other suggestions are welcome -- especially ones that aren't as thorny as dhcp and pppoe.
