DTR: Data Transfer Rate. Seems like some
numbers refer to baud, not bytes.
The PCMCIA Smartmedia Adapter I have has 68 pins,
which is on some SCSI, and in surfing around, I
seem to recall some which suggested a ribbon
cable from a SCSI card would work, but I aint
found such a cable.
I also came across a description and jpg of a
'slot card' which accepted the PCMCIA and also
accepted a standard ribbon cable, one model for
40 pin IDE, another for 68 pin SCSI. but aint yet
found a vendor nor a price for what looks to be
a pretty simple card, which while it fits in the
backplane key, dont actually go into either a
PCI or ISA slot.
Thanx for the tip; I'll keep on poking around, it
has got to be out there. I got an Agfa 780 with a
Smartmedia 4 meg card in it, but neither win, dos,
nor Linux graphic software can get the pictures
out of it. Has a DB-9 to a com port cable, and it
shows in the camera LCD that the PC is hooked up,
and software finds the index, but that's all. the
pictures are prolly worth more than the camera if
I can ever get them out.
