Dear Inigo,

Well... it is pretty easy to get a 3Com NIC (network interface card)
working in a DOS machine - you can download the drivers from 3Com, and
they generally work pretty well in my experience.

The real question is what do you want to do with these two machines?
Just loading the network drivers and wiring the computers together will
not be good enough; you need to have some sort of software to tie them
together, to accomplish some goal.

If all you'd like to do is play some of the IP or IPX capable network
games, then the game should include all the components needed, as part
of it's multiplayer components.

If you wish to share files between the machines, then you're going to
need file-sharing software of some sort.  I'm afraid I can't be too
much help with that, since all my experience has been with having
actual servers on the network, rather than peer-to-peer, but I know
some of the others on this mailing list can help.
