Hey Jude:

I used to run Bobcat, several different versions of it, until the
the new Lynx386 for DOS was released by Doug Kaufmann. In my
WATTCP.CFG files for both Bobcat and Lynx386 I have mtu=522 and
mss=512. I don't remember what these settings are for, but they
have always worked for me, regardess of whether I am running Bobcat
over a 2400, 9600, 14400, or 33600 modem. Also they work for an XT,
a 386, a 486, and a Pentium 166.

I notice on your post you have "MTU: 1096". Maybe the colon is the
problem. Try replacing the colon with an equals sign, and try
changing the value from 1006 to 522.

Good luck,

Sam Heywood
